Example - Sonnenberg B World Record - CM DiRT

Here you will see a video of a run on the Sonnenberg B track. You have probably seen this but this time you get a detailed list of what I do in the first part. Feel free to seek the video and watch the difficult parts a couple of times. Try to play the level with the same car and observe the differences.

-Accelerate as discussed earier

-Don't let off the throttle. get to the right side of the road and turn to be on the left side just at the top of the crest. This way you fly slightly left staying on the road.

-break long and hard at the right time to be able to make it through the chicane. It's marked with only light obstacles wich you will destroy, there are two huge stones though wich mark the maximum you can cut. go through the chicane with no throttle or brake.

-give a little throttle but then immediately release it and roll into the first "white" turn. Point at the inside of the curve with the top of the steering wheel, as the metal surface is slippy and you have to turn hard. Accelerate hard when you get the car straight.

-brake, roll, accelerate out - same kind of turn

-now here's a trick. co-driver says "left4right4". Get to the very right side of the road. Without releasing the throttle fly next to the tree to the left throught the two turns and immediately steer right to avoid hitting the left wall. You made it through with maximum speed!

-This makes the other end even more dangerous. You have to brake hard and slow down a lot to be able to get through right. You can hit the side of the bush to the right but don't overdo it.

-Now comes a series of longs followed by hairpins. Find the braking points by doing multiple runs. Brake in the straights. Taking a right hairpin: arrive to it at a moderate speed. Be in the middle of the road. At the moment when the inside point of the hairpin is at the right edge of your screen (or at 2 o'clock) Jerk the car left a little then immediately right while pressing (pulling) the hand brake. Moving the car harshly and applying the handbrake will make the back of the car slide and turn you just where you want it. Stop handbraking while applying throttle gently at the middle of the move reaching full throttle at the end of it. It takes practice.

More coming, stay tuned!
